Mogura of the Void

"I am the end of evolution. The end of existence. All of time... all of space... I'll devour it all."

Mogura was once a creature from another world. Obsessed with power, he would fight the strongest opponents he could find, devouring their beings upon their defeat. Thousands of consumed beings passed, and now Mogura is all-powerful, drunk on his ill-gotten gains and able to consume the very world around him with a wave of his hand. At this point, it would take a god to defeat him...

Based on a character from an old artwork (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v194yD), I had plans of designing an "evolved version" of him for a while. Making this was an exercise in nuance, where I constantly painted over sections so I could get the right shape and details of Mogura's form. It's also been a long time since I painted lightning and its associated effects, so this artwork also served as a refresher on painting lightning.
