Jötunn

"Take care where you walk in Jötunheim; its people are surly, and deal with problems with their might."

A character splash for a class assignment, I was feeling the urge to paint something with snow and ice. Initially, I thought to make a more primal character, bare-chested and covered in growths of ice. What I went with instead was the polar opposite, with the only uncovered sections their fingers.

I also elected to work on the painting the way that I worked on some of my other school paintings; where I built it off a black and white composition sketch and rendered it out before using hue/saturation layers to apply colour, which helped a lot in freeing my mind from worrying about both form and colour at the same time.
