Thormundar - Ruuna, the Creator

"Hail to the Eldest One,
Born in the endless night,
There alone in the darkness.

Hail to the Eternal Mother,
Who made the ultimate sacrifice,
Torn apart to birth our world.

Hail to the Endless Reborn,
United in flesh and spirit,
Brought together in life again."

The idea for this piece has been in my mind for years now, though it was a while for it to be brought to even a sketch, since most of it was mostly piecemeal; only which character it was based on and the idea of the cosmos weaving into their being. The character in the artwork is not a new character, but rather an enhancement of Rosetta, a character of mine (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PQEV1) with elements of The Sacrificed God (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e05dbD). This background, on the other hand, was one of the more elaborate abstract ones I devised, based on astronomy manuscripts and Byzantine art.
