Swooping Owl

I've long wanted to paint an owl, and decided to get down to it after watching some Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Didn't want to get too magical and fancy about it, though, and ended up with this.

The trickiest part is getting the textures of the feathers right; not wanting to render too much detail that it looks plasticky and stiff, but not too little that the resulting figure looks more like a collection of clouds than a bird. Doing a bottom up angle was also a pretty new thing for me, and I tried to reinforce it by using the tree trunks as a pseudo-set of perspective lines.
